     Axel   (Desert Fury)

 About Axel

Axel joined our family following the death of our much loved shepherd Fritz! Sadly Fritz died on Valentines Day 2006; and despite saying I would never have another after him; I missed not having a dog desperately;  so my searching began!

After weeks of trawling the ads, multiple telephone calls; travelling to see dogs etc I finally came accross Axel!  Axel was raised very similar to a way in which all our puppies are...totally natural and in the home environment.

Axel was for sale along with his 3 brothers picking him was very hard as all brothers were very similar and all were outstanding puppies (A credit to their breeder Sue; who by the way is still breeding fabulous German Shepherds!) however I only wanted one so had to choose between them, which certainly was very difficult!  Although not the boldest of the boys, Axel stood out, as at 8 weeks old he was the only one who's ears were upright! (Yeah fair enough he looked more like Garfield! but it still gave him a unique quality!)

And so...Axel joined our Family!

      Saxon  (Kenmillix Skydancer) aged 7months.

About Saxon

Saxon joined the family approximately 4weeks after Axel (and boy did we know it)  our reason for purchasing Saxon was that I had always regretted never breeding from our old shepherd Fritz (and still do) so was determined not to make the same mistake twice!

Despite spending weeks AGAIN! searching for the right bitch (we originally wanted a long haired white shepherd.....not much different eh???) we stumbled across Saxon.....Saxon was a purchase that I would never recommend as a breeder of shepherds...my heart ruled my head!

Saxon was tiny when we purchased her from the breeder, she was in a stable stall outside with little interaction, it was due to her early start in life that I purchased her! (I didn't have the heart to leave her there!) Although I would never swap her for the world; Saxon's personality is second to none and has a perfect temperament and a Fantastic Mother!

And so our family was complete!

A word of Advice.... NEVER purchase 2 shepherds of similar age! They are like naughty toddlers and are into everything!  Highly amusing if your not the one looking after them!

About them now

Axel is very much the protector; he has a fabulous nature and is very alert and laid back.  He is however extremely protective of myself and my son; when my hubby's not about, though he is never nasty/viscious.  He is a fantastic Jumper; he loves nothing better than jumping our gate/fence to take hisself off to his favourite lamp-post!

Saxon on the other hand is very much the Madam;  She hates sleeping on the floor; she loves attention and loves to sit on your knee; highly disconcerting considering the size of her now! She has a fabulous temperament, as bold as brass; nothing phases her at all! She has also earned the nickname Houdini....this dog can open any door/gate whatever, I often come home from work to find she has been routing through my kitchen cupboards, for what reason I have yet to find out?

Anyway to sum it up both dogs have turned out to be great additions to our family; each one of them compliment the other and both are extremely close to each other!
